Learning objectives
By the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:
- Explain the fundamental concepts and principles of an environmental management system (EMS) based on ISO 14001
- Interpret the ISO 14001 requirements for an EMS from the perspective of an implementer
- Initiate and plan the implementation of an EMS based on ISO 14001, by utilizing PECB’s IMS2 Methodology and other best practices
- Support an organization in operating, maintaining, and continually improving an EMS based on ISO 14001
- Prepare an organization to undergo a third-party certification audit

- Elaborates theories, approaches, and best practices used in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of an EMS
- Encourages interaction between trainers and participants through questions and discussions
- Provides theoretical basis supported by practical examples
- Provides quizzes with stand-alone questions and scenario-based quizzes, intended to prepare the participants for the certification exam
Prerequisites
In order to fully benefit from this training course, participants should have a basic knowledge of ISO 14001 requirements. In addition, a general understanding of environmental management principles and concepts can also facilitate the learning process.
